Following's ABS 2012's talk, this 2h step-by-step tutorial is meant for Android platform rookies,as to discover all Androidisms one has to tackle down to bring his own custom device to life.
The talk will enlight Android 4.2 Jelly Bean enhancements, providing a real-life device porting experience. This presentation will cover all platform related aspects, from early board bringup (from U-Boot and Fastboot to Linux kernel and drivers), AOSP device integration, Android-specific device init customization, touchscreen input layer adaptations, block device, graphics, audio and enhanced connectivity layers as well as Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) driver interfaces development. Each aformentioned technology will also be completed by various Android-specific tips and tricks related to performances tuning and global system performance optimization.
