The Android™ Builders Summit is a technical summit for OEMs, their device manufacturers, integrators, custom builders, and the growing Android and Linux Kernel developer communities. Android is expanding to an increasing number of industry segments in addition to smart phones and tablets. There is a need for the ecosystem of builders to collaborate on a common solution for existing limitations and desired features across all of these device categories. The Android Builders Summit provides an intimate forum for collaboration at the systems level and discussion of core issues and opportunities when designing Android devices. The summit addresses topics ranging from custom builds, alternative middleware, network functionality extensions, Peer to Peer frameworks, USB device support, security, unification of power management, tools and hybrid Android devices among many other topics.

[Add-On] Embedded Linux Development Crash Course (LF410)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In parallel with Android Builders Summit we are offering special short course training. These courses are prepared by well-known Linux developers and provide a unique opportunity for colleagues to train together while attending the conference, in particular those developers and systems administrators who work with teammates located in different cities.

Embedded Linux Development Crash Course (LF410)

Embedded Linux Development Crash Course provides developers with a solid understanding of adapting the Linux kernel and customized user-space libraries and utilities to embedded platforms.

This two day course is a condensed version of our full five day class, LF411: Embedded Linux Development. In order to save time, time-consumings steps such as the compilation of major components from source, assembling root filesystems, etc, are explained and results are provided. In addition somel sections of the full course are abbreviated or skipped, depending on the needs and interests of the audience.

This class is designed to give you the necessary tools to develop an embedded Linux device. Upon mastering the material you will have a basic understanding of:

  • The Linux kernel architecture, with emphasis on the essential points needed to adapt the kernel to a custom embedded application
  • The techniques for right sizing the system to meet project constraints
  • The multitude of resources available for constructing a cross development environment for embedded projects
  • The options available for populating libraries and application user-spaces to meet the goals and constraints of embedded systems.

You will step through all of these phases of Embedded Linux Development with laboratory exercises on an embedded target device to provide hands-on practice you can take directly back to your projects.

For more details view the Course Outline.
